Today began with a lot of energy and excitement for the trip ahead of us as we departed from the Chapel. We traveled for about 5 hours to Marion, VA where we had the opportunity to take a pit stop at James Austin's family farm (James is one of our summer interns). They own a beautiful piece of land in the hills of Western Virginia and graciously provided snacks and drinks for everyone. In addition, we had the special treat of getting to feed and pet their herd of alpacas. It was a fun experience that broke up our travel nicely.
After our quick stop at the alpaca farm we loaded back up for the second leg of our journey to Nashville, TN. We arrived at our housing site here in East Nashville where we were greeted with friendly faces and hot pizza. Everyone enjoyed the delicious dinner before we unloaded all of our stuff inside. Once we all picked out our beds we gathered to meet our CSM hosts, take a tour of our housing site, and hear about what we had in store for our week.
Finally, we got settled into our beds for a good night sleep in preparation for our first day of serving tomorrow. Check back tomorrow for details on all of the places and people we will be serving to begin our week. Please continue to pray for God to challenge and guide us throughout our week.
