Nicaragua Update - Political Protests

Dear Families of the Nicaragua Team,

As some of you may have heard there are currently some political protests occurring in Nicaragua.  Orphanetwork’s staff on the ground is reporting that the situation has turned a corner towards peace since the weekend.

As always the safety of our students is a primary concern and so I, and Chapel leadership, are closely monitoring the situation alongside Orphanetwork.  Our Nicaragua team at this point will continue with our training, planning, and equipping with the hope that our trip will proceed as planned.  We will be sure to keep you updated throughout the process and if you have any questions just let me know.

Let’s continue to pray for our team, our partners in Orphanetwork, and the nation of Nicaragua as we closely monitor the ongoing situation.  We are grateful to have a close partnership with Orphanetwork who is communicating directly with the US embassy in Managua, the pastors on the ground, and their Nicaraguan staff to obtain accurate information and assess the situation.

Finally, please sign up for our parent text list by texting NICAPARENT to 41411 for parents and NICASTUDENT to 41411 for students because we will handle all future communication through texting and the blog at wccsmtrips.blogspot.com.
