During the teaching portion of our meeting the team began their study of the character of Elijah found in 1 Kings 19.  Luke introduced Elijah as a character in the Bible who we are going to be studying as a model for how we can be ready to not only serve on our trip, but also encounter God.  We are going to be on God's operation down in Norfolk and so we want to be ready for what that will look like.  Elijah was running away because he was afraid and felt like a failure, but God did not give up on him and actually took care of him in the midst of these intense feelings.  Luke talked about some of the fears that we may have going into the trip, and talked about how he believes that God has specifically brought each person on this trip for a reason.  If you would like to access and review the questions that we discussed in our small groups then click on the link below.

Our next team meeting is on Tuesday, June 10th from 6:30-8:30pm in Woodward Hall.  The first half will be for students and parents and the second half will be just for students.  Parents are welcome to stick around in the Cafe if they want or you can leave and come back.  Please bring any parental consent or media release forms you may have.  Feel free to email Luke at lkincaid@wcchapel.org with any questions.
