HS DC Trip Night #1

Today was a great day! Everything has gone smoothly. We had lots of great fellowship on the bus ride up. This evening we began to broaden our horizons and experience all that the city has to offer in terms of ethnic diversity by eating dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant.  Ethiopian food is eaten with the hands and our students enjoyed the hands on dinning experience immensely. Following dinner we went on a "prayer tour" as we began to prepare our hearts to serve on Monday morning.  We were all over the city praying for the people we will be encounter throughout the week.  The experience helped to expose our group to the poverty that exists in DC first hand before we begin to engage in the lives of people who live in that poverty this week.  We can be confident that God heard the prayers of our team and has already begun to prepare our hearts to encounter Him this week.

We will update the blog each evening, but the update will often take place after many people have gone to bed.  Please check each morning to read about how God is working in the hearts and minds of our Washington DC Mission Team.
